For these who really like new modern design Concept themes for your house interior, i would highly recommended Benson Lo from Benzdesign Studio.I really adimtted that he is different from other ids, He is so well verse that he could design alot of design themes for my little 3 rm flat. He is much different from all the ids or contractors that i have met so far.Totally different. Benson would keep on proposing me many ideas to see that my house designs are very nice. The best part is that he can create design concept themes that would blend into my house. My place doesn't look like blank any more
.Its now like an studio apartment.


For the workmanship wise, it is ok and further more his service is effective and good. The total cost spent for my renovation is reasonable compare to all the quotations that i have from other ids firms. He may not be the cheapest but i really don't mind paying a bit more.

Ok, finally wrapping up our renovation it had been smooth. It took a abt 5 weeks to overhaul the place,100% maKE over.
We can't believe it really at first. Benson Lo gave us a good renovation deal and had been responsible, responsive and professional through the entire renovation period. I encountered lots of nonsense (rubbish quotes, bochap attitudes etc) in my hunting process for an ID. Decided to go with Benzdesign Studio for their professionalism, no-nonsense quote and patience.

We are appointed for en block to stay. We are very happy as to say good bye to our old flat. We are anxious to have an en block . We have a new 4 room flat. Its time for us to souce around for the renovation for our house unit. We got to look for floor tiles for our bedroom and some carpentry works. We started to buy magazines and books as to have ideas to renovate our house. We avoid contractors as we have been hearing alot of story about them. Most of the id firms does not give us fresh ideas. its alll the same. Later on , My friends recommended Benson Lo to me as they have their house done up by him. They would show me their house designs photos through their i phones. The even we look into the photos, it was actually what we are looking for, new design concept to match our house. We started to book an appointment with Benson Lo to our new flat to take a look ard and to take measurements.

After seeing through the house, Benson Lo would use his pen & writting broad and start to drew out on the spot to show us the design concepts of our house. We are amazed as no all the ids we met could draw on the spot and could think of many ideas for our house concept. He would start to use colours and theme to play along the house for us.
We began to meet up for the following week to discuss for our house design renovation quotation. After Benson Lo placed the quotation before us, we will start to flip to the last page of the quotation to see the final figures. We are happy as its not as high as we really thought. We then start to go through the contract item by item. During the discussion, he would start to propose design theme to our. He also explain to us that we should not base on the pervious layout as we insisted at first. We are happy with his services. As its our first time renovating my house. We are lost. Benson Lo would take a lot of time and effort to make us understand what is going on.

In the renovation process, We often come to our new house to ensure things that are on going. Most of the time we saw Benson Lo there looking through the works done by his contractors. Whenever he see us, he start to smile and he began to tell us not to worry. During the week ends, Benson Lo would start to bring us out to get stuffs for our house. He also recommended soft furishing for our house concept. We can really see all the effort and time that he put in.

After to renovation, We are happy with the design concept as what Benson Lo proposed. We thanks him alot for his help to come out with design ideas for our house. All my friends and relatives who visited our house said that our house design is very nice.
It was worth paying for Benson Lo services. After seeing through all the quotation that we perviously have on hand. Benson's quotation may not be the cheapest but its really worth paying. I'm also lucky to have him as my id. after all all my hard work of soucing for an id really pays off. We manage to find the right person to do up our nest.
My neighbours are pleased with our house design layout and they started to ask for Benson Lo's handphone number. so far for what i know, They signed up with Benson and their house is in the mid of the renovation process.

In this forum i realise almost everyone is using and praising Benson for his service and price. but do you guys hard to contact him? at time, after dropping him a few call still no reply from him. so not too sure if any of you have the same experience.

My expectation of engaging an id is responsive and get job done with good project management coordination
Searching of right id is not easy, word of mouth, through web site recommendation etc
Some id can be creative but not good project managment
Some id can be salesman talk
At this moment, I have short listed 2 and in selection for finalizing

I am also wondering, why this web site only talking about him but not others. There are many good id in Singapore, just spend a little time searching.

I had engaged Benson from a referral at another site. So far so good. U are right, he has 2 hps, one is managed by his PA whom answered my call for the 1st time. However, she told me that Benson has a tight schedule. So, i consulted her for any available date. She further asked if i have any referral person, so i guess Benson only takes in referral right now. I searched for an id since last Dec, so probably i had a longer time grace for my search and I told his PA that i will only be collecting key this month. She called me back a few days later and told me to forward her my floor plan and asked if i have any perferred design/ concept to email to the com. Benson then called me after a text to him and so we met up with him. He seem to be busy as his phone was ringing non stop during our discussion, however, the way he handled his call was rather professional and i heard him arranging work and so. We were rather impress with his talent in sketching a design out freely from the floor plan we provided and that was even before we decided to sign with him. His quotation was within our budget too.
This act impressed us and he was one of our shortlisted firm. After a second appt, we designed to sign up with him because we felt that he had provided us with what we wanted, as well as we have a sense of compfort zone with him.
We will be starting work next week! On and off, thanks God he was reachable at all time, at times, when he did not respond to our call, shortly later, he will ring us back.

Fr this site, i believe there are mostly existing clients of his because they were able to produce pictures; hence, i felt there shouldn't be any worries that he could not deliver his work.

Nonetheless, I also hope that I did not trust the wrong firm. Further update again!

No doubt, benzdesign is well established for its service and designs. Am glad that I did not make the wrong choice by believing in what the forumers said. Almost go with another firm but just got pissed off with the id's calculative characteristic, hence, decided to go with benzdesign. Even though Benson was the one whom attended to me, but he assigned a project coordinator to assist my family with the reno process. Initially, I was worried that the project coordinator will not be as proactive or as experienced as Benson but he proved me wrong. At time, both Benson and Vin will be around my house to oversee and checked on the work. Thanks guys. Even after the house was handed over, Benson was reachable even late in the night when I actually forwarded a message regarding my air con problem. Overall, i am satisfied and convinced of the reputation of benzdesign.

I agree with you Dean, Benson Lo is hard to get but when we manage to get him, He would answer our calls every now and then. If he's busy, he would return our call when he's available too.We too feel a sense of comfort zone with him & our house renovation is still on on going process

honestly i feel he is sucks ! my place i just got the keys . cos of i see he is so popular i went to him , took about 3weeks to give me his price ! but is all rubbish given back to me ! other than him i went another 2 place ! both that 2 id quotation came back almost about the same price but his , is 16k more than other n doing the same things !

16K different? That's far too much! Benson is my id too but the pricing that was given to me was comparable to the other firms that I shortlisted too. I was quite surprised to hear that, but that was probably a different experience. My was a blessed one, with him sharing his knowledge and suggestions on how to manage the limited space issue of my flat.

Hi, I am a new member here, so i would like to join in the community to share my experience for my upcoming renovation work. Hopefully it will be a pleasant process.

Firstly is my impression with id... Of 4 firms, i had shortlisted Benz Design.
I just met up with Benson the day before yesterday and yes, it was a fabulous experience discussing with him on the design and home decor for my place. This man has a keen aesthetic sense that respects yet enhances his client’s preferences (Me). Not only has a good sense and also relates well to me. His proposal was high in standards and he sounds practical in the design too. Like other, he also asked for my floor plan but he was the only id whom sketch and show me the layout of what will probably be seen after reno. From there, he starts to discuss and shows me different material; i extremly like the texture and the look of laminate.
Years of experience are evident in every suggestion and every detail—he knows what will work best and how to get it done and goes the extra mile to make sure all the details are thought through and superbly executed.
As compared, the only reason that we decided to use him is because of the presentation and work that were presented to us.

Hi, an id should does design for that, so Benson should be able to do that too. Mine was a custom- made and designed by him.

Basically, this short period of contact with Benson from Benz Design Studio, I felt that he is an interior designer whom is responsible for his work and functionality of his client’s space. Initially, my plan was to search for different contractor and to coordinate the work by either by hubby or I, if not I will just renovated the toilet. But not, my whole house is in the midst of the renovation work. I trusted my house to Benz Design Studio (please don't disappoint me) because the design provided was what I wanted. I decided to give up the thou of coordinating the work by myself or hubby after our discussion with Benson, I realise project coordinarion was more than what I thought. I don't think I will be able to get that done especially when I intend to stay for a long period in this tiny yet sweet shelter of my hubby and I.

My renovation work has yet completed but this while, I see his working attitude toward both his work and workers: he was able to determine the structure of my tiny space, the needs of me as the occupant, and the style that best suits my family. Well, it does takes a unique type of mind to handle both of those concepts well and he did it.

I expect an id to be good with more than color, fabric, and furniture and he proved that capability. Till now, at least I am satisfied with his communication skill, and the way he oversee the project. Hopefully, the handing over will be a more joyous one and I gonna have my tiny shelter soon.

When I first looked into this website, I was very overwhelmed with the good reviews of Benz Design and thou I should choose them for my reno work. My id, Benson as well as his assistant, Calvin, form a good team in assisting my family with the works. Their commitment is exceptional in terms of everything they do. Benson is a very dedicated person and we felt comfortableworking with them. They made sure that they have checked every single aspect of the renovation prior to beginning and end. I am extremely satisfied with their work and I would definitely recommend Benz Design to everyone! We appreciate what was provided.

Hi Dean, oso share the same views n satisfaction with u frm Benson of BenzDesginStudio. It's thru this forum reviews that I decided to engage him as my 1st choice ID to renovate my existing 19 yrs old EA flat in Serangoon North. Am in the mid of my renovation, even my sis-in-law had decided to engage him to renovate her condo. It's his commitment n respondsibility in him that give u the confident to engage him! Took me 1 mth to engage him cos he has few project to complete but is worthwhile waiting.

Hey guys, I am a truly satisfied homeowner of Benz Design. My id, Benson was wonderful (thumbs up for him). His proactiveness and efficacy in his work is something that my family and I truly appreciated. Let alone having to mention the design implemented; we love the design especially the feature wall and the walk- in wardrobe. I should say we did not make a wrong decision in engaging him. Yes, we almost give up on having the thought of engaging him since he was so busy and we really had a hard time speaking to him before confirmation. But when my wife insisted on using him (just because she love the walk- in wardrobe that he designed), I gave in. I am glad that I gave in because the situation seem to change: we totally have no problem reaching him (even if it's after midnight!) unlike earlier! One thing we appreciate is his updates of the reno process via either email or text. We werent that worried since we are constantly updated with the pictures of the process. I am not a good speaker but here's my appreciation toward your (Benson) assistance for this 2 months. Not to forget, Jason, who have been coordinating the works for me as well. Cheers!
