Is it normal for the floor skirting to be of 3cm? The skirting in my parents' house is only at 1cm. Would it look weird?

May I ask why you want to do 3 cm skirting?
I think the standard is about 6 or 7 cm skirting.
At 3 cm, it does look a bit short but then your room height will look above average I think.
How come your parents house is 1 cm?
I have seen some houses without skirting but that is for parquet, quite nice.

Sorry, what I meant was the thickness of the skirting is 3cm from the wall to outer part of the tile (including the cement/plastering and floor tile that is 1cm thick). Height is not an issue here.
The 1cm in my parents house is oso referring to the thickness of the skirting, not the height.

Now I get it. I think at 3 cm thick, it is slightly above average, average is between 1-2 cm.
One thing you have to note it that at 3 cm thick, you will likely have a obvious horizontal surface for dust collection on the top and over time, if you don't clean it regularly, can be a little dirty, hope that helps. :)

1cm thick is ok. You prefer flooring skirting with the thickness of 3cm? Then you floor space is less.
